Anyone who hasn’t yet explored Opatija should not miss our city walk! During this approximately 1,5 to 2-hour stroll, you will get to know the historic town and its hidden corners. With around 12,000 inhabitants, Opatija is rich in historic architecture. It is considered the most important example of a sophisticated seaside resort from the era of the former “Austrian Riviera,” featuring the architectural charm of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy.

The drive along the Kvarner coastal road is one of the most beautiful panoramic routes in the region. Passing Opatija, Lovran, and Medveja, you will enjoy wide views of the sea and the rugged coastal landscape.
Brseč, perched high on a cliff above the sea, feels like stepping into another era. Narrow stone streets, small houses with colorful doors, and quiet squares give the village a unique, almost timeless atmosphere. From here, you can enjoy spectacular views over the Kvarner Bay. The small Church of St. Magdalene, located on a rock above the sea, is one of the most impressive viewpoints in the region. Afterwards, we're visiting Mošćenička Draga, a charming coastal town with a long seaside promenade. Free time for a stroll along the sea or a light lunch.
Finally, the tour continues to Mošćenice, a historic village high above the coast. Mediterranean architecture, winding alleys, and wide views over the Kvarner Bay create a calm and authentic atmosphere away from the crowds. Non-slip footwear is recommended.

Join us on a journey through three unique places perched high above the sea, captivating visitors with their history, charm and spectacular views.

On our way, we pass through the centre of Rijeka and discover numerous landmarks, while Barbara shares fascinating stories and insights into the city's past and present.
We begin our excursion in Trsat, one of Croatia’s most important pilgrimage destinations and home to the country’s oldest Marian shrine. The Franciscan monks continue to preserve valuable sacred treasures here. Towering above Rijeka is the impressive Trsat Castle, whose walls offer breathtaking panoramic views of the entire bay.

We then continue to Kastav, situated on a 377-metre-high karst hill and still surrounded by a completely preserved medieval town wall with nine towers. This historic town uniquely combines culture, history and nature. Its winding streets resemble an open-air gallery while offering views of the “green sea” of centuries-old forests surrounding Kastav.

The final town on our excursion is Veprinac, one of the oldest settlements in the region, which has watched over Kvarner Bay from its 519-metre hilltop for centuries. The picturesque town owes its name to the butcher’s broom plant (Ruscus aculeatus), a typical Mediterranean species that grows in the surrounding forests. The area is also renowned for its wild asparagus, whose rich flavour makes it a highly prized spring delicacy.
The town’s landmark is the Parish Church of St. Mark with its distinctive bell tower. Just outside the town gate stands the small Church of St. Anne, featuring remarkable 15th-century wall paintings. A stroll through the narrow medieval streets feels like stepping back in time.

During the approximately 20-minute drive to Rijeka, you will already gain fascinating insights into the eventful history of this port city. Upon arrival in Rijeka, the tour begins with a walk through the harbor and the lively old town, including the fish and green market, as well as numerous historical buildings and landmarks. The city’s history spans from prehistoric times through Gothic and Baroque periods to the strong influences of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, each era has left its mark on the cityscape. The market halls, dating back to 1885, impress with their variety of regional products, from fresh goods from the hinterland to the daily catch from the Adriatic Sea. This is followed by a stroll along the Korzo, the city’s bustling promenade with its street cafés, and through the narrow streets of the old town. Along the way, you will see the Baroque Cathedral of St. Vitus and the famous Leaning Tower.
After a short break, the tour continues up to Trsat, the oldest Marian pilgrimage site in Croatia. The Franciscans still preserve valuable sacred treasures here today. From a height of 137 meters, you can enjoy an impressive view over the entire Bay of Rijeka. The Trsat Fortress (entrance approx. €1.5–3, payable on site) also adds a special atmosphere to this location.
The journey then continues to Kastav, a charming small town situated on a 377-meter-high hill. Rovinj welcomes you with Mediterranean charm and architecture influenced by Venice. Winding alleys, closely packed houses, and small squares tell the story of its long history under the Republic of Venice. During a guided tour, you will explore the old town all the way up to the Church of St. Euphemia, from where you can enjoy a magnificent view over the Adriatic Sea. Afterwards, there is time to enjoy the city’s unique atmosphere with a coffee or a relaxed walk.
The journey continues to Poreč – a town where Roman clarity and Byzantine splendor blend with the refined taste of Venice. During a walk through the old town, you will stroll along the Roman streets of Cardo and Decumanus as well as the lively promenade. Optionally, you have the opportunity to visit the famous Euphrasian Basilica (UNESCO World Heritage Site, entrance approx. €10, not included in the price) – a true gem of early Christian art.
In the afternoon, return to Opatija, filled with impressions, colors, and the scent of the sea.

Explore the blue-green island of Krk with Barbara! Krk is an island of contrasts—from barren, moon-like landscapes to green meadows and forests, from shepherd settlements to historic cultural centers and developed holiday resorts. Krk constantly surprises its visitors! One of the highlights is also the drive across the Krk Bridge, which was once even listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
The town of Krk is the cultural center, known for its romantic seaside promenade (Riva) and its well-preserved old town with city walls. The square Vela placa is the heart of the town, where life is vibrant—shops, cafés, and restaurants invite you to stroll and relax. Kamplin Square, with the old Frankopan fortress and the cathedral with its bell tower, is the town’s landmark and often serves as a beautiful backdrop for various cultural events and festivals.
The holiday resort of Punat lies in the southern part of the island, in one of the best-protected bays of the Adriatic, the Bay of Puntarska Draga, which is connected to the open sea only by a narrow strait. Punat features a charming promenade stretching from the marina to the beautiful beaches in the southern area. For sailors, the bay is a paradise—the local marina offers space for up to 850 boats in the water and an additional 300 on land.
The village of Vrbnik is located on the eastern coast of the island, perched on a 49-meter-high cliff above the sea, and boasts a particularly fascinating old town. Built on rock, every house and passage had to adapt to the terrain, which still gives the place its unique character today.
Soline Bay – in the village of Čižići lies Meline Beach, famous for its healing mud (fango). In summer, visitors love to cover themselves in mud from head to toe and let it dry. To reach deeper water, you need to walk several meters, as the beach is very shallow.
